SUSTAINABILITY

With the Milkwood Run route taking place along our beautiful coast and very close to Cape Point Nature Reserve, sustainability is at the top of our agenda. We want to work together to do everything we can to help reduce the impact on the environment. The unnecessary waste and litter is something we are against. We are dedicated to maintaining a clean race and preserving the beauty of our coast and surrounding area that we run in.

Bye Bye Single Use Plastic

• In 2017 the Milkwood Run went plastic free,removing 360000 Plastic Sachets from the route and growing.
• At each Aid Station, the plastic sachets were replaced with refill taps. Runners are encouraged to carry there own cup or bottle that can be refill quickly at one of the self-serve water stations set up along the route.
• We are working with Food Vendors to avoid single use plastic in concessions and food and beverage outlets at the start and finish.
• Balloons are not permitted, due to both the potential dangers to wildlife if they get free and also their single-use nature.
• T-shirts and merchandise are not packaged in a single use plastic bag. A recyleable or reusealbe paper bag is used.
